Estrema “Fulminea”: The first Italian electric hypercar with a hybrid solid-‐state battery
Automobili Estrema is proud to announce its first hypercar, project “Fulminea” which is set to go to market in the second half of 2023.
The Estrema Fulminea will be the first street legal hypercar to be equipped with an innovative hybrid battery pack which uses a combination of ABEE’s (Avesta Battery Energy Engineering) solid-‐state cells paired with ultra-‐capacitors. The hybrid battery pack will be engineered and assembled in cooperation with battery specialist IMECAR Elektronik.
The powertrain will feature 4 electric motors with a total peak power of 1,5 MW (2,040 HP) allowing the Fulminea to accelerate from 0 to 320 km/h (0 to 200 mp/h) in under 10 seconds. With its hybrid battery pack of 100 kWh, the expected WLTP range will be 520 km (323 miles).
Thanks to the innovative solid-‐state cells, the high-‐performance hybrid battery (with cell to pack technology) will reach an unprecedented energy density of 450 Wh/kg (1,200 Wh/l) with a predicted weight under 300 kg (661 lb) and a total curb weight of 1,500 kg (3,307 lb).
Automobili Estrema operations will be carried out in Modena, in the heart of the Italian Motor Valley, where Fulminea’s initial production run will be limited to 61 units.
About Automobili Estrema
Automobili Estrema is a newly formed boutique manufacturer of electric hypercars and supercars. Electric car entrepreneur Gianfranco Pizzuto, who in 2007 was a co-‐founder and investor at Fisker Automotive, founded it in 2020. Gianfranco is flanked by a team of veteran managers with a long and successful automotive background. Their first hypercar model “Fulminea” will be the first street legal electric vehicle to use a hybrid battery pack (the world’s first), which combines ultra-‐capacitors with ABEE’s Li-‐ion solid-‐state cells.
